Quite a large percentage of the items we export to the EU are manufactured there will a statement on the invoice indication their country of origin on the invoice be sufficient to prevent them from having duty applied to them when being cleared into the EU. Equally another proportion are made in Japan and are therefore free from duty normally coming into the EU how should this be shown on the invoice and or accompanying paperwork. Most of our items need to be despatched on the day of order so there is no time to obtain a certificate of origin.

Sorry, we are unable to answer this question as it’s a matter for the EU Customs Authorities.

You can find further guidance on claiming relief on goods imported then supplied to an EU member state here
