We are a registered charitable organisation supporting animal rescue centres, both in the UK and in Europe. We send pallets of donations to Romania and send a 40ft container at least once a year to Cyprus. We are receiving conflicting information as to what is required to ensure the shipments are not subject to any duty or taxes upon arrival. All the donations sent have been donated to us by the general public. We send across dog and cat food, and anything else related to the care of such animals, like collars, leads, treats, towels, bedding, cages, toys etc. Apart from the food, the rest of the donations are second-hand/used.
I cannot find anything on line that tells me what the process is, and importantly whether the process is the same across Europe or whether different requirements apply in different European countries.
